The people may watch the priests making offerings on sabbaths and feast days only by looking through the open gate; the prince, however, may stand inside the gate, in the vestibule on the edge of the inner court, to observe the offerings. Most likely this is a spiritual vision of the church. If we have to take the way of the Cross, we may always count on seeing Him go first, though we follow Him amazed. There I saw a place at the far west end, 20about which he said to me, "This is the place where the priests cook the reparation offerings and the purification offerings and bake the grain offerings, so they do not have to bring them into the outer court and so transmit holiness to the people. " Though the prince is supposed himself to be a very hearty zealous friend to the sanctuary, yet it is not left to him, no, not in concert with the priests, to appoint what sacrifices shall be offered, but God himself appoints them; for it is his prerogative to institute the rites and ceremonies of religious worship. You will notice that the land distribution is not the same as that in Joshua. 2:4, 5, 7 bake the grain offering, so that they do not bring them out into the outer court # Ezek. 15 d The lamb, the grain offering, and the oil you must bring every morning as a perpetual burnt offering. Yet, if he have a servant that is a favourite, he may not in like manner settle lands upon him, v. 17. The priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings. He never thrusts us into the fight without preceding us. "The prince will not isolate himself from the people on the feast days but be a part of the crowd. " 14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the LORD. Then the prince was to come by the way of the gate porch from without, and during the preparation of his sacrifice by the priests to stand upon the threshold of the gate and worship. His inheritance shall be only his sons'; it shall belong to them. It is striking to us that this prince is viewed as being like one of the people, going to worship in the temple when they do, and offering up what he wishes to offer on the Sabbath and at other times as freewill and voluntary offerings. "Notice here that legalizers and seventh-day observance advocates always fail to realize that the Sabbath consisted in more than just abstinence from labor on the seventh day of the week, important as that was for the commandment, but included also specific sacrifices to be offered by an authorized priest in a designated place of God's choosing. 15Thus they shall provide the lamb, the grain offering and the oil, morning by morning, for a continual burnt offering. What estates he gives his children must be of his own ( v. 18): He shall not take of the people's inheritance, under pretence of having many children to provide for; he shall not find ways to make them forfeit their estates, or to force them to sell them and so thrust his subjects out of their possession; but let him and his sons be content with their own. In many ways, this is a strange passage to us.

He that kept such a plentiful table at his altar needed large kitchens; and a wise builder will provide conveniences of that kind. The north gate of the inner court, where the prophet was last, Ezekiel 44:4, through an entry, by the side of that, he was brought by the man his guide: into the holy chambers of the priests; see Ezekiel 42:13: and, behold, there was a place in the two sides westward; or, "on their sides westward" {p}; on the west side of the chambers; the Targum is at the west end of them: the use of this place follows, {p} Mtkryb. And the burnt offering the prince shall offer unto the Lord in the sabbath day,.... He is taken back to the east gate of the outer court, and finds this gate, which formed the principle entrance to the temple, closed. This renders it probable that Ezekiel was himself standing on the outside of the east gate (see on ver. 46:13-15||46:13-15||46:13-15|. Q} hxnmh, "the minchah. " Then in Ezekiel 37:24 God had Ezekiel say that David will be their king, but in Ezekiel 37:25 He said David will be their prince forever.
But, this is how God built the church to function. Based upon what we know to be the Messiah's part in the millennium, we can only conclude that David serves under the Messiah. 19Then he brought me through the entrance, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers for the priests, which faced north; and behold, there was a place at the extreme rear toward the west. The prince's land was two large tracts on either side of the sanctuary's land. Plus, in Ezekiel 46:16 the prince has sons. It is not merely enough that God wants humanity to be ruled over by perfect beings. He shall worship at the threshold of the gate. 15 And this shall be the border of the land toward the north side, from the great sea, the way of Hethlon, as men go to Zedad; 16 Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazarhatticon, which is by the coast of Hauran. And if the prince was to hold the sacrificial meal behind the inner gate, which was closed, how was the food when it was prepared to be carried into the gate-building? This includes our social and private lives. The allusion seems to be to the king's pillar in the temple, where he used to stand, 2 Chronicles 23:13. 24 p In a dispute, they shall act as judges, and they shall judge it according to my judgments. It is to be his property in Israel. Though not impossible, such an identification with David is not probably in view of the broad context of prophecy concerning the kingdom.
The prince cannot be the Messiah, first because he is distinguished throughout from a priest. Since the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the month (cf. As to the north gate and south gate, by which they entered into the court of the people (not into the inner court), there was this rule given, that whoever came in at the north gate should go out at the south gate, and whoever came in at the south gate should go out at the north gate, v. 9. Member interest in soul winning activity is growing. But his inheritance shall belong to his sons; it shall become theirs. They are to offer up prayers for the sick (James 5:14-15). Some further rules given both to the priests and to the people, relating to their worship, ver 1-15. The only exception is in favour of the prince.
You will notice another commendation for Zadok in verse 11. 1. the free-will offerings of the people. Also, The prince can commit sin (Eze. The upper pavement (E. Plan II) on either side of the eastern gate provided room for such worshippers. He will make an everlasting covenant of peace with an obedient Israel, 37:24-28.
Israel will receive righteous leadership throughout the millennial period. Yet this will not countenance those who pretend a disability that is not real, or those who by their extravagances in other things disable themselves to do the good they should. 3 Only z the prince may sit in it a to eat bread before the L ord. To eat bread: if understood of the king, it was his eating of the sacrifice, that part of it which was allowed to the offerer. He is the same today, through which His Spirit moves and is part of Believer's lives meeting needs, bringing conviction, establishing hope. This is also demanded by the circumstance, as the meaning of the words cannot possibly be that the prince was to hold his sacrificial meal upon the threshold of the gate, or in one of the guard-rooms, or in the middle of the gateway; and apart from the porch, there were no other places in the gate-building than those we have named. The other Levites will do temple maintenance. 46:14 "a perpetual ordinance" See Special Topic at 37:25, 26. 17 And the suburbs of the city shall be toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the south two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty. The layout of the country is in rectangles, not following the natural boundaries of a physical land. This is the west side. Take notice of Ezekiel 45:8 especially.
3The people of the land also shall bow down in worship before the LORD at the opening of this gate on the sabbaths and new moons. 46:2–12] The prophet describes the inner eastern gateway opening on the inner court of the priests in front of the Temple itself where the altar of sacrifice stands. A description of the places provided for the boiling of the sacrifices and the baking of the meat-offerings, ver 19-24.
