With my S&W 22A, if I loaded the first round by pulling the slide and letting go, it would always cause a jam at the ramp. I also did a bit of trigger work to get the trigger pull down a bit. The most prevalent Smith & Wesson 22A flaws are the failure to fire, the failure to eject, the magazine problem, the safety recall issue, and the feeding problem. 5" barrel The Contour has a full rib which is what drew me to the 22A in the first place, I think the little bit more money I paid was probably well spent. This would not allow the slide to fully slide back and potentially not allowing the spent shell to eject, pick up the next cartridge, and/or cock the pin/trigger properly. All you have to do it push in the lever/button on the front of the trigger guard and the barrel will lift off and then the slide can be removed. More rounded nose bullets, such as CCI Blazers, Mini-Mags, and CCI Standard Velocity all worked well, with the Mini-Mags and CCI Standard Velocity ammo working the best of what I tested.
