As I said before crushie, you need to at least look at your instructions and bone up on your instrument. My hand held tach has power, ground, and another wire that goes to the negative on the coil. Yes, 4 cyl is double the 8 cyl reading. Who is the best person to rebuild your engine? BTW- My tachometer called for the negative lead from the coil, would a dwell meter be the same as a tachometer??? Nice to hear it is running well.
