You could be driving down the road in your car listening to a pastor teach on the radio when all of a sudden something he says jumps right out at you through the radio. Anybody experience this before? If you get a strong, gut feeling not to get on a plane, and you then decide to heed that warning and hours later that plane ends up crashing, then you know that gut warning was coming in direct from the Holy Spirit since you do not have the ability to see into the future like He can. Craving His presence, I read anything I could about Him. Sometimes these dreams will need some kind of interpretation and you will need to carefully examine the dream to see exactly what God is trying to convey to you. I honestly didn't know what "more" of God meant, even though we sang songs about it, but I craved His presence and read anything I could about Him, absorbing all the teaching and services offered. THIS is How You Know You Really Have the Holy Spirit.
All these things come from God and when the Spirit makes His presence known we usually feel at least some of these things in some way or another. If that is what you are picking up when thinking about moving in a certain direction, then that is the Holy Spirit's way of telling you to let it go and not to move in that certain direction. A confirmation from God himself that it's all right there in front of me. Sometimes, the joy I feel is so great that I want to dance. Your job will be to get it down on paper and carefully examine and analyze it for what that personal message may be. There are basically three spiritual voices that can communicate with a human. Again, after you have received quite a few of these quickenings from the Holy Spirit, you can easily learn to sense and discern when it really is the Holy Spirit doing this for you. For example, say you just lost your car keys and you cannot seem to find them anywhere in the house.
After you have received quite a few of these leadings from the Holy Spirit, you can then become quite adept at being able to tell when a leading is coming in directly from Him or when it is coming in from your own natural desires and emotions. It was not a warm feeling or electricity feeling but a presence like I said like oil being poured on my head and flowing downward my body I feel very peaceful when it happens not scared and sometimes I get like a smile so powerful like happyness feeling. Often when this happens, words come directly to your mind that God wants you to pray or you feel immediately led to pray in a certain way or direction. But Eli was the one to confirm what Samuel had heard, in order for Samuel to be sure that the voice he had heard was from god, he needed Eli, so god used Eli to confirm that the voice that Samuel had heard was indeed from god. Each time I asked more, words in tongues emerged.
So, something happened to me about 7 months ago and I've been trying to find out if anyone else had ever had this experience.
