This is a slow, quiet book best suited to contemplative readers who can forgive the uneven pacing and minimal character development. He somehow convinces her to let him come with her. Charismatic, assertive Eli just wanted to do his own thing. A surprising touch to I Wanna Be Where You Are is its title. Eli was a great counterpart to her and I felt like the hate part of their relationship did have enough of a foundation for me to get behind it. I chose I WANNA BE WHERE YOU ARE because I love the Jackson 5, of course, and also because I feel like that title speaks to the story in many ways.
