More importantly, he is an American Jew, which has made his life more susceptible to being an outcast and probably his main reason for arguing pro-diversity. They live their life at a deeper level. For instance, Brooks excludes the explanation of diversity integration in the United States, where instead focuses on racial integration as the definition of diversity in America. But I think we've overshot the mark and a culture of hyper-individualism, where people see their life as an individual journey, is going to be a culture with a lot of detachment and distrust. These distortions are believed because it feels good to believe them. We, as Americans, promote an abundance of cultures that are interconnected to make our country the amazing place it is today. Being diverse, or for better terms, upholding diversity is a fundamental aspect of what makes America the preeminent country it is today.
But in the information age, the late writer James Chapin once told me, every place becomes more like itself. The United states has a label as being a country that is very diverse. It has encouraged a new generation to work towards equality, while warning about the dangers of supremacy, to progressively improve society for all. David Brooks demonstrates why all different kinds of humans are attracted to identical and similar races, ethnicities, religions, beliefs, political values, and classes in his essay based on typical examples surrounding us. They never said, "I'm going to do this for a few years now, go off and do something else. " He uses sufficient examples to prove this to be true, and how it's by habit and choice that we are disconnected from each other. And that's a code of conduct that we now recognize in each other.
