The first-ever video-on-demand submission to be refused a certificate by the British Board of Film Classification for the "terrorization, mutilation, physical and sexual abuse and murder of the members of a Jewish family by the Neo-Nazi thugs who invade their home", Hate Crime is sometimes difficult to watch. Torture porn fanatics would drown in their own saliva with how gory this film is, but the violence is all too real. In 2010 director Steven R. Monroe took on the grueling task of directing the inevitable remake of I Spit on Your Grave, one of the most controversial and infamous rape revenge films in cinematic history. The film favors a pale-gray look; within that overreaching texture are good, natural colors -- including neutral flesh tones -- but there's no escaping the dreary general feel that dominates the film. What we get in this film is almost to deliciously violent and evil. The same can be said for her various acts of revenge.
These performance are ultra-low budget film performances in a modestly budgeted film. Everything about Deja Vu is underwhelming. A message was left on the answerphone, but Bruno slept through the call. I'm very reluctant to overpraise the 1978 version, because it really is nothing more than a poorly acted, very violent 1970s-era exploitation film, but there is more going on here than a sicko rape and then reverse revenge travesty. There is a moral statement behind all this carnage. Super legit Korean soft tofu joint. You can watch any monster movie, but nothing is scarier than human on human violence, showing the true depravity that can lurk in one of our own kind. I don't know these characters yet. Instead, the film shifts to concentrate on the rapists as they struggle to cover up their deed and, as time passes, eventually become lulled into a false sense of security that Jennifer quickly, methodically, and without mercy shatters.
