The dynamic of the two main characters is very different in this story to TBDATE (due to a number of spoilery factors I won't elaborate on as well as their personalities and who they are) but it also holds the same messages and comforts as they navigate this End-Day (the very first End-Day).

He lost his parents during 9/11, and even though I didn't lose my parents that day, how he describes that day is 90 to 95% identical to what I experienced. There's a one line description and a couple references to it. But in eighth grade, Autumn and Finny stop being friends due to an unexpected kiss. And that's how he gets to know Rufus, an orphan guy who's running from the police for having beaten the hell out of some dude, and spend his End Day with him. Orion's dynamic, and bond, with his best friend Dalma and her family prove just that. Poignant, bittersweet story of firsts. Or Adam didn't think about that part while he was writing the book. It's the night before Death-Cast goes live, and there's one question on everyone's mind: can Death-Cast actually predict when someone will die, or is it just an elaborate hoax? Are up to challenge to interpretate this book in a different way like me. A book that mentions superheroes is a good book. I loved seeing the distinct personalities of both Rufus and Mateo. Orion Pagan, an aspiring author with a heart condition, hopes his phone won't ring at midnight, but he knows Death-Cast's call is coming soon.
